May Favourites

June is almost here! I can't believe it! I'm off to sunny Portugal in just over a week, I cannot wait! Anyway here's some products I've been loving throughout May. I will link up any reviews I have done below!

Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion- I got this from a friend. I am terrible for regular moisturising as I hate waiting around for the moisturiser to dry, this is a great product, it dries very quickly and smells lovely.
Catrice Prime And Fine Highlighting Powder- Review
Nivea Double Effect Anti-Perspirant- I bought this Anti-Perspirant while I was in Superdrug last weekend and I absolutely love it. It has the most amazing scent! So girly!
Models Own Glitter Polish- Pink Fizz- I found this in my Nail Polish box last week, I forgot I had it, its a gorgeous Pink glitter. I used it on my accent nail with Essie Fiji, they were perfect together.
EzFlow Trugel Polish- Black Violet- I bought a few new Trugel Soak Off polishes this month. I tried out Black Violet and I absolutely loved it. I love dark nail polish colours, I decided to try it out in May before it got too far into the summer months when dark polish is kind of a no no! Trugel Review

Has anyone else tried out these products? Or written a May Favourites this month?

Barry M Textured Polish

Last weekend I bought a few new polishes from Superdrug, One of which was a textured polish from Barry M- Ridley Road. I couldn't wait to try this out. I have read a few reviews about this polish and most people don't seem to be a fan of it, here is what I thought.....

I thought it was very easy to apply, I heard some people found the consistency to be quite runny but I thought it was ok to apply. It has a sort of foam like consistency with small pieces of grit in it.
I was not sure about the textured finish. I think it made the manicure look a little messy. I finished the manicure with Seche Vite Topcoat. Once I placed this over the polish the texture seemed to disappear, but once it had dried the texture was still visible but not as prominent.

I would say give this a try if you are interested in funky, design nails, or nails with a matte finish. For the people who prefer a shiny glossy finish to their nails I'd probably say you could give this a miss!

Has anyone else tried out Barry M Textured polish?

Superdrug Haul

After reading all about MUA nail polish on Cherrysuedointhedo I decided to take a trip to Superdrug over the weekend. I ended up leaving with far more then I planned!

As people in Ireland will already know, there isint many Superdrugs in Ireland so when you finally get to one you can tend to go a little overborad! There was a 3 for 2 offer on, so here's what I picked up...

As Cherrysuedointhedo said last week, the MUA nail polishes are pretty close dupes for the Essie Nail polish, I purchased 3 new colours- All Nude, Plum Noir & Frozen Yoghurt. I also picked up a MUA Mascara- Mega volume Mascara .

I visited the Barry M collection. I was looking for a new mint polish, so I picked up the Textured Polish in Ridley Road , I haven't heard great things about this Textured polish, but I'll give it a try. I also bought a Gelly Hi Shine in a gorgeous pastel blue called Blueberry .

I picked up a Superdrug dry shampoo as it was on special for €1.25! Has anyone else tried this product? I also got my absolute favourite Bath salts- Radox, Muscle soak Bath Salts,  and a gorgeous new deodorant- Nivea Double effect. This deodorant smells amazing, Im am in love with it!

Superdrug really has some amazing deals and I love how they stock brands you may not find in Boots.

Has anyone tried out any of these products?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend,

What's In My Bag?

I absolutely love reading this type of post. I don't know why but I think everyone loves to be a little noisy and see what other people carry around with them! I could waste several hours watching this tag on youtube. So I thought Id give it a try.....

I purchased my bag from Penneys. It was 13euro. I love it, it reminds me of a Givenchy Antigona duffle bag. Its has two carry straps and one large strap which comes in handy on shopping trips!

Keys- House keys & car keys.

iPhone- My iphone 4s, couldn't live without it! My cover is from ebay.

Perfume- Essence- 'like a new love'.

USB Cable- Always handy if my iphone or ipod runs out of battery.

Hand cream- I got this gorgeous Giorgio Armani lotion from my friend, she was clearing out her cosmetics and was kind enough to send a few items my way.

Hair clips- You can never have enough hair clips! They are like socks in the wash, they just mysteriously disappear and you never see them again!

Mumford & Sons Album- SIGH NO MORE-  I borrowed this from my super amazing Dad! Going to See Mumford & Sons at The Pheonix park in July! Can't wait!

Lipstick- Mac- Ruby Woo.

Cnd Solar Oil-  I like to try and keep my cuticles hydrated. I layer this on when I have a spare few minutes.

Boots Shapers Peanut Nougat Bar- for snacking on the go.

DKNY Wallet- My favourite wallet, I got this as a present from my lovely sister.

Max Factor Creme Puff Powder- Translucent- I adore this powder, definitely my number 1 favourite, it goes everywhere with me.

Vaseline- Cocoa Butter- I think most girls carry some form of lip balm with them everywhere they go.
Hairbrush- Another item that goes everywhere with me, gym, nights out, work, everywhere!

I actually carry around a lot more than I thought I did! Maybe I should try and downsize a bit!

Has anyone else written a 'What's In My Bag' post?

No7 Stay Perfect Blemish Cover

I bought the No7 Stay Perfect Blemish cover with a No7 voucher I got two weeks ago. Don't you feel you just need to spend those vouchers the minute you get one? I usually pick up a new nail polish but I decided to go for something different this time.

Good News-
Inexpensive- €8.20
Creates even coverage without being cakey
Comes in four gorgeous shades

Bad News-
Has a slightly oily consistency, which meant it did not last as long on my skin as other concealers I have tried
I am not a huge fan of the white packaging

Overall I was happy with this concealer. It didn't cost me too much and it did the job. But I still think I will go back to my old faithful Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer as I feel it gives better coverage.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

I have heard so many great things about this product so I was extra excited when I received a free sample of it at the pharmacy last week.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo is a Moisturiser which can be used daily. It combines 4 active ingredients (Niacinamide, Piroone Olamine, LHA/Linoleic Acid) which help prevent breakouts and blemishes on the skin.

What La Roche- Posay say about it- 'Pores are unclogged and purified to help reduce the development of future breakouts. Helps to reduce skin imperfections leaving skin looking clearer and feeling smoother.

Good News-
Prevents breakouts- I found my skin was much clearer after a few days using this product
Does not dry out your skin
Unclogs pores
Nice consistency- not too heavy on your skin
Lightly scented

Bad News-
Slightly pricey at €16 for 40ml

I would recommend this product to anyone who deals with weekly breakouts. It definitely cleared up my skin and I think my pores appear smaller after a week of using this product.

Catrice Prime And Fine Highlighting Powder

I decided to purchase a new highlighting powder this month. My friend read a great review about the Catrice powder on Sosueme so I decided to give it a try!

Good News-
Value for money, Price €4.99
Nice packaging- sleek with engraved writing
The consistency of the product is soft and glides on your skin
Gorgeous colour- pink undertone

Bad News-
Not highly pigmented, I found using my fingers rather then a brush created more colour
It doesn't have a mirror inside, which is a bit disappointing

Overall I was very happy with the product, it was easy to use and created a nice subtle brightness to my skin. If you are looking for a subtle highlight, this is the powder for you.

Soak Off Polish- EzFlow TruGel

Has anyone else tried out TruGel? I heard about it on a few blogs and decided to give it a try!

Trugel is a new soak off polish product from EzFlow.

What EzFlow say about it:
Build your clientele with innovative TruGelTM
* Strengthens nails with mega-shine & long-lasting color
* Safe for natural nails
* Protective gel formula leaves nails healthier & stronger
* Brushes on like polish for easier application
* Formulated to cure under both LED & UV lights
* Soaks off easily in 10 minutes - no drilling or filing needed

They have  72 shades  fabulous colours!

I decided to choose just one colour and see how I got on with it. I went for a gorgeous colour called 'Tiffany'. It is an exact match for the Tiffnay & Co colour. I used Konad Plate m71 to create the bow design.

I applied my TruGel polish and wore the polish for 10 days and it still looked perfect on the 10th day. I decided to remove it as I wanted to try another colour. The removal process was great, removed without effort in 10 minutes.

I would definitely recommend TruGel to anyone.  The flat brush makes application easy and it removes like a dream. I have already ordered two new colours, cannot wait for them to arrive!
