Natural Collection Coverup Cream Concealer Review

I took a trip to Boots on Friday to pick up a few items. A new concealer was on my list of things I needed, I found one in the Natural collection section priced at €3 and decided, what not, I’ll give it a try!
Information on product- Easy to blend cream concealer to cover spots, blemishes and under-eye shadows. Fragrance-Free.

Swatch-

I was pleasantly surprised with this product.

Good News-
It has a creamy texture.
It blends into the skin well.
It is inexpensive.

Bad News-
Limited shades available- Fair & Medium. (I would recommend the fair, Brighter concealors are great under the eye to brighten up the eye area)
The coverage is not very heavy, so may not suit people who prefer heavy coverage.

Cocoa Brown Tan Review

I heard about this tan from loads of different sources so I had to give it a try. I'm a huge fan of fake tan, my usual favourites are No7 Perfectly Bronzed Self Tan Quick Dry Tinted Lotion, Penney’s St. Moriz Tan & Sublime Bronze Tinted Gel by L'OrĂ©al.

Cocoa Brown is a new Irish tan created by Marissa Carter. It promises to give you a sun kissed glow in just ONE HOUR!

Accelerating ingredients means the tan only needs to be left on the skin for 1 HOUR and can rinsed off after that. If you prefer a deeper tan you can leave the mousse on your skin for up to three hours. (1 hour = light, 2 hours = medium, 3 hours = dark). Info from carterbeauty.ie

Good News-
The tan is inexpensive at just €7.99 per 150ml bottle (I usually get 3-4 applications out of one bottle).
The tan has a colour which makes it easier when applying it to the skin.
It really does develop in one hour leaving you with a lovely natural looking tan.
The tan also fades off extremely well.

Bad News-
I can't really fault this product! The only thing I can think of- It dries quite quickly which is great as you don't have the usual standing around waiting time and it means your clothes/bed linen aren't destroyed with tan. I would just advise to be cautious when applying it so you don’t end up missing patches or creating dark patches around the elbows/knees etc.

I think this is an amazing new product, everyone should give it a try!

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder Review

I somehow misplaced my usual Maxfactor face powder on route to the gym last week, so I ran into the chemist along the way to try pick up a new one.
I noticed they had the Maybelline Fit Me range and it was on special so I decided to give the pressed powder a try.
I got it in (Buff Beige) Light 130.

Good News-
I love the packaging- It comes in a sleek black case which has a mirror and a gorgeous puff sponge.
It does what it says on the tin- It gives the skin a natural look while also keeping oil at bay.
It did not dry out my face.

Bad News-
I think I would have preferred the mirror to be at the top of the compact not underneath the powder.

Even though I liked this product I still think I would choose the maxfactor compact powder, I feel it didn’t give the same coverage and I had to reapply it more often throughout the day.

Shellac Sweet Dreams Collection Spring March 2013

I am very excited for these new Shellac colours to be released in March 2013!

I am a huge fan of Shellac but find there isn’t many bright or pastel colours. I have several deep reds and blacks and purples. I was delighted when I seen a photo of the Spring Sweet Dreams collection.

“Drift off on a cloud of confections with the new CND Shellac Sweet Dreams Collection,”says CND Co-founder Jan Arnold.
“The new pastel colors can be worn on their own or layered to create a reverie of never ending dreams.”

I usually layer my Shellacs to make new colours, I can’t wait to get my hands on these and see what new colours I come up with!
