Essie Fiji

Happy Tuesday everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I did a little shopping over the weekend and I finally picked up the polish I've been hearing so much about- Essie Fiji. It seems to be very popular this spring, after seeing it on 'The Perfect Beauty' on Friday I decided to finally purchase it over the weekend.

It is a gorgeous pastel pinkish white colour. I had just applied my Cocoa Brown tan on Saturday morning and it looked fabulous with my tanned glow. It took two coats to get it completely opaque. I finished off the manicure with two coats of Seche Vitae Topcoat.

I have never used Essie polish before. So I'm not sure what kind of staying power it has. Seen as it is quite pricey I'm hoping it stays on and I don't find chips for a few days. I actually think I could leave it on forever, I am in love with this colour.

Has anyone else tried this colour?  or any other Essie colour you'd recommend?

Great Lengths Hair Extensions

I have gone through so many hair extensions in the last few years. I'm picturing a giant pile of hair sky high right now! I've tried glue ins, clip ins, bonded hair, everything.

Last year my friend got new extensions called Great Length extensions. I hadn't heard much about them. They looked fabulous in her hair. They lasted her 8 months before she decided to take them out and have a break from extensions.

After her success, I decided to get them done. I decided to try the shorter length, 30cm, as I work in an office Mon-Fri I wanted hair I could manage during the week.

Information about Great Lengths- Great Lengths hair extensions can be used for volumising, lengthening, colouring or simply adding texture. Great Lengths hair extensions have over 55 colours to choose from and blend with your own hair for perfect colour matches. So realistic and natural, our bonding system is kind to your hair and scalp, Great Lengths hair extensions will transform your hair with stunning results.

I was thrilled with the results. The whole process took 2hours. They looked fabulous. I got two shades through my hair, a light brown and a darker brown to match my own hair colour. After two months I decided to Ombre my hair, which meant applying dye to the extensions. They lightened up with no problems.

Essence now have their own perfume range! I love all things Essence so I had to try it out. I decided to go for 'like a new love'. I purchased the 10ml bottle for €3.49- Bargain!

What Essence say about it- Essence like a new love – desire, excitement, like you’re in love – simply wonderful. this fragrance gives you a feeling of butterflies in your stomach. I love to love!

As Penneys didn't have testers in store I randomly selected this one, I was really happy with it, It smells gorgeous & the packaging is beautiful. I cannot wait to try out more from this collection.

Essence currently have nine fragrances in the collection- like a rollercoaster ride, like a jump in the pool, like a million miles away, like a new love, like a first day in spring,  like a girls´ night out, like a trip to new York, like a day in a candy shop, like a walk in the summer rain.

Makeup Storage

Lots of people have done this post on how they organise their makeup. I think its a great idea, you can get great tips on storage and organisation tips.

So I thought I would share how I store my makeup, Hair accessories etc...

I store all my makeup etc in a large Plastic Storage chest. I got this chest last year for Christmas. You can purchase them from Argos for €27.49. I filled the box with smaller plastic boxes.

First Box-In the back of this box I store my foundations, concealers & primers. In the other two boxes I store all my eye shadows.

Second Box- In the second Box I have two Jars which store my lipliners, eyeliners & Mascaras. At the front, I have boxes containing all my lipsticks & lip glosses. I store my blushers along the side of this box.

Third Box- In here I store all my pallets & False tan.

Fourth Box- In here I store all my hair products, styling products, bobbins, hair brush, basically anything hair related.

My sister stores all her makeup brushes in jam jars, I thought this was a lovely idea, very creative, so I did the same with mine.

Hope this was helpful. Has anyone else done a post like this?

Essence Soft Touch Mousse Foundation

I am trying out lots of different foundations at the moment. Like I have said my usual favourite foundation is Estee Lauder Double wear but seen as it is quite pricey I have gone in search of some cheaper alternatives.

I noticed my mom using the Essence Soft Touch Mousse Foundation and decided to give it a try. I have heard great things about the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and wondered how it would compare.

I tried out the colour- 02 Matt Beige.
I use a Real Techniques Stippling Brush to apply the product.

Good News-
Very affordable at approx. €4 for a 16g jar.
The packaging is quite dainty, with a lovely glass jar. Also very compact, great for throwing in your handbag.
Foundation is light weight and feels like silk on the skin.

Bad News-
Lasting power is not great, probably lasts about 4/5 hours on my skin.
Not much colours to choose from- 5 in the range.

Even though the foundation does not last as long as other brands, I really loved the colour and the feel of the foundation on my skin.  I simply touched up the foundation throughout the day to keep up the coverage. The small jar is still lasting me after 2 full weeks of use.

Has anyone else tried out this foundation?

Shellac Sweet Dreams Collection - Cake Pop

My new shellac spring colour finally arrived last week, I could not wait to try it out! The colour is called Cake Pop, it is a gorgeous pink pastel colour, great for Spring/Summer.

Here is how the manicure turned out, I created a butterfly design on the accent nail using Monster Bundle plate BM-205, and Essence Marble Mania- Silver Twist polish.
I topped the accent nails with a 2nd coat of Shellac Topcoat.

I love the Spring Sweet Dreams Collection Shellac brought out in March, I think my next purchase will be Lilac Longing.

Has anyone else tried out these colours?
