Brows a-go -go Benefit Review

My sister asked me to seek out a good eyebrow shaping kit for her a few weeks ago. So I checked through some reviews and blogs and found a lot of great reviews for the Benefit eyebrow shaping kits- Brows a-go-go & Brows Zings.

I decided to purchase the Brows a-go-go as it is a brow shaping and eye shaping kit. The Kit contains brow zings powder (light), brow zings powder (dark), brow zings wax, smokin' liner, eye bright, brow highlighter powder, mini tweezers, hard angle / talent brush & a step-by-step lesson guide.

Good News-
Lovely packaging, compact size, great for throwing in your handbag
Provides a step by step guide on how to use the kit
The brow wax keeps the eyebrow neat and tidy all day
The highlighter really brightens up the eyes

Bad News-
Retailing at approx. €30 is it quite pricey
The liner is quite standard, found it hard to apply

Overall I think this is a nice little kit, my sister was delighted with how easy it was to use. She says she will be adding it to her everyday makeup routine.

Pastel Nails for Spring

I usually prefer darker colour polishes but decided seen as it is Spring time I’d try a lighter shade. Essence has some gorgeous spring/summer colours out at the moment. I decided to try out a Pastel Purple colour called Hello Marshmallow!

I first applied OPI Natural Nail Base coat & 2x layers of Hello Marshmallow!

As glitter polishes are a huge trend this season I decided to add a gold glitter for some sparkle. I got this glitter polish in a Penneys Nail polish collection set.

I finished the manicure with 2x layers of Essence Better then gel topcoat. I was thrilled with the result, very springy!

Saturday Stamping

On Saturday I had a bit of free time and decided to get out my nail stamping plates and do some stamping!

I started with 2 costs of OPI Parlez Vous OPI?

For my stamping I chose plate Konad M71, I used OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts for the print.

I finished the manicure with 2 coats of Essence's Gel Look top coat.

I will have to get searching for a nice Valentines Day Manicure! Has anyone tried out any Valentines Manis yet?

Dove Daily Care 2 In 1 Shampoo & Conditioner

I have never heard great things about 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioners, but as I sometimes go to the gym in the morning before work and don’t always have time for Shampoo & conditioning my hair I decided to buy a 2in1 and try it out. I randomly selected the Dove Daily Care 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner as it was on special that week. I was so surprised by this product, it’s a new obsession!

Good News-
It leaves the hair feeling beautifully fresh & clean
It does not leave a residue in your hair, which I hear is a problem with some other 2in1s
Hair feels soft & conditioned
Easy to comb through the hair

Bad News-
I can’t come up with one! I have started using this shampoo outside my gym days now and still have gorgeous clean hair with no residue or stickiness. I even think my hair has grown considerably after using this shampoo for just 3 weeks. My hair never grows as it is usually in poor condition from too much ghd action!

I think everyone should give this product a try!

Essence Vintage District Blush

Essence introduced the new limited edition Vintage District Range in January 2013. The range includes eye shadows, eyeliners, duo lipstick & gloss, blush, nail polishes & nail art. I was immediately drawn to the new blush in the range. The packaging is just gorgeous! The Blush is called 01 It’s popul-art.

Good News-
Beautiful packaging & design.
Gorgeous peach shade with a matt finish.
Inexpensive at €4.09 per pot.

Bad News-
The gold flower is only an overspray of gold which disappears after first application.
While the gold/red shade creates a rich colour on the skin, the orange/peachy shade is not as pigmented.

Has anyone else tried out any of the products from the Vintage District Range?

Essence Gel Look Top Coat

My current favourite Top coat! I found this in the Essence range a few months ago and decided to try it out. I was thrilled with the results of this Top Coat!

Good News-
Great price- Price at €1.95 per bottle.
Creates a thick seal (gel-style finish) over nail polish.
Lasts a lot longer than other leading brands.

Bad News-
As it is a slightly thicker formula, it takes slightly longer to dry.

Aside from the drying time I really dont have anything bad to say about this product. At such a excellent price it is perfect for keeping your manicure looking fabulous and chip free for longer.
