Bloom 2013

Over the weekend I attended Bloom at The Phoenix park with my family. My dad is very into his gardening so he bought us all tickets for Saturday.

Bloom is Ireland's largest gardening show. The festival lasts for five days, and attracts approximately 80,000 visitors a year. The festival also includes many other attractions including cookery & craft demonstrations, live music, gardening tips, Irish food produce and much much more.

When we arrived we entered a large warehouse containing a some of the award wining show gardens. They were beautiful. There was several stalls, some gardening related including- gardening tools, buds, seeds etc. Further down there was also stalls with many other products to view- we tried hats, organic hand scrubs, massage chairs, there was so much variety.

From there we moved outside, we went and visited a friend working at the Despicable Me 2 display. We got some great photos with the Minions. I hear they'll be  up on the Universal Pictures Ireland Facebook page in a few days, cant' wait to see them. There was also several stalls outside with food tastings, I think I ate enough cheese to last a life-time.

We then visited all the spectacular Award wining show gardens, some of them were simply out of this world! There was even a Wizard of Oz garden with a yellow brick road, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture.

I had a fabulous day out, even thought the weather wasn't the best Saturday, it was actually nice walking around in the mild cool weather.

Did anyone else visit Bloom over the weekend?
