Brush of the Moment- Expert Face Brush

Oh my! I am in love with this brush! A few weeks ago I decided to purchase a Real Techniques brush on iherb, when I was finished shopping I had 8 brushes in my cart and I ended up purchasing all of them! Oops!

I heard about iherb on cherrysuedointhedo. The site allows you a $5 discount when you spend over $30  and a $10 discount when you spend over $40.... sold! I decided to Purchase the Expert Face Brush. I have heard so many great things about this brush from fellow bloggers and YouTuber's. It is Tanya Burr's go-to brush for foundation application.

I can definitely say I was not disappointed! The brush is amazing, I don't know how it does it, it manages to blend any type of foundation with minimal effort.  While on holiday I used this brush when applying both heavy and light foundation. (Estee Lauder Double Wear, Essence Soft Touch Mousse, Essence BB Cream). I found the brush very easy to use, it buffed in the foundation beautifully and left a neat even complexion.

The brushes are made with Synthetic Taklon bristles and are 100% cruelty free. The bristles are soft and dense which allows foundation to buff onto the skin creating a natural blended finish. The brush itself is made from light weight aluminium material which makes it easy to use and control.

Bye bye Mac 187 Stippling Brush, hello Real Techniques Expert Face Brush!

As anyone else used this brush? Or have a favourite Real Techniques brush?

Essence all-in-one BB Cream Review

I just got back from 6 full days in Portugal, we got such amazing weather,  it's horrible to come back to this gloomy Irish weather but oh well  life and blogging must go on....

One product I took away with me was the Essence BB cream. I happened to come across this product when I was picking up my usual hoard of essence nail polish and decided to give it a try.

I was so impressed with this product. The packaging is lovely, the 30ml bottle is great for throwing into your bag when you're on the go. The product is lightweight on the skin and dries quickly leaving a soft dewy finish. It minimises pores, dark marks & blemishes- perhaps not as well as a foundation would, but it gives great coverage for a BB cream. I was really impressed with the staying power of this cream. It lasted on my skin for 6+ hours a day, which was great considering I was in baking heat. The cream also contains SPF 30.

The only downside I could find to this BB cream is the colour choice. It is only available in three shades- Universal, Natural, Medium. (I purchased No2 Natural)

I was really glad I picked up this gem before my holidays, I wore it every day to the beach. My face usually burns but this product kept my face hydrated and covered all day. I had a few new freckles and a subtle glow, it makes a change from the usual red blotchy face I have gotten from previous sun holidays. I would definitely recommend this for holiday trips.

Has anyone else tried this product?

Cocoa Brown Night & Day Tan Review

Night & Day Tan* is the new Tan developed by Marissa Carter.  Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan is my absolute favourite tan. I wrote a review on this tan a  few months back- Link. Since launching this new product, it has become a huge success, it is now stocked in pharmacies nationwide and most recently in Penneys/Primark.

This new product is slightly different. The new Night & Day tan has an instant colour, which does not need to develop and can be worn out after application. While your out enjoying your lovely bronzed glow, the tan develops on your skin. The next morning when you wash the tan away you will be left with a lovely natural glow that will last up to 5 days!

Packaging- The packaging is just gorgeous! I love the pink to white bottle..so girly. The Mitt is also a gorgeous pink shade.

Application- The mitt is soft and easy to use. The mousse is very easy to apply, does not cause steaks and dries in seconds! I have slightly dry skin, so found it slightly more difficult to apply evenly. I asked my Sister to give this tan a try over the weekend, she said she found application an absolute breeze!

Colour- I was absolutely delighted with this tan! The instant tan is a deep dark bronzed colour, perfect for nights out when everyone likes to have a deeper glow. After washing it off the next day its leaves a lighter subtle glow, perfect for everyday wear. I think this shade is similar to 1 hour tan washed off after 1 hour rather than 3+ hours.

I cannot say enough good things about this tan. I'm sure it will quickly become even more popular then Cocoa Brown 1 Hour. Cocoa Brown Night & Day Tan is in stores now, form an orderly queue ladies!

Bloom 2013

Over the weekend I attended Bloom at The Phoenix park with my family. My dad is very into his gardening so he bought us all tickets for Saturday.

Bloom is Ireland's largest gardening show. The festival lasts for five days, and attracts approximately 80,000 visitors a year. The festival also includes many other attractions including cookery & craft demonstrations, live music, gardening tips, Irish food produce and much much more.

When we arrived we entered a large warehouse containing a some of the award wining show gardens. They were beautiful. There was several stalls, some gardening related including- gardening tools, buds, seeds etc. Further down there was also stalls with many other products to view- we tried hats, organic hand scrubs, massage chairs, there was so much variety.

From there we moved outside, we went and visited a friend working at the Despicable Me 2 display. We got some great photos with the Minions. I hear they'll be  up on the Universal Pictures Ireland Facebook page in a few days, cant' wait to see them. There was also several stalls outside with food tastings, I think I ate enough cheese to last a life-time.

We then visited all the spectacular Award wining show gardens, some of them were simply out of this world! There was even a Wizard of Oz garden with a yellow brick road, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture.

I had a fabulous day out, even thought the weather wasn't the best Saturday, it was actually nice walking around in the mild cool weather.

Did anyone else visit Bloom over the weekend?
