Sunkissed Launches Rapid Tan Mousse

Meet the newest member of the Sunkissed Tanning collection. Sunkissed Rapid Tan Mousse* is a new product to the range. The new tan develops in just one hour and has been formulated to speed up the tanning process and achieve a long lasting natural tan.

Like all Sunkissed tanning products, the new Rapid Tan Mousse is kind to your skin - The light weight mousse is both paraben and alcohol free. It also contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, which help to protect your skin and keep it nourished. It dries quickly on the skin and contain key active ingredients which help to increase the efficacy of the application and recreate a quicker more intense tan.

The gorgeous Lucy Mecklenburgh is the Sunkissed ambassador and had this to say about the new product-  “I love this new product from Sunkissed. With Rapid Tan it means I can tan and go without having to plan ahead, so it’s perfect for a last minute night out!”

The Verdict-

The mousse is tinted which makes application a doddle. Although just like other 1 hour development tan I have tried, the mousse dries very quickly. This can be great when you want to apply tan and be able to throw on your clothes and leave the house straight away but it can also be a challenge to get the tan even and streak free when it almost dries instantly. Advice I would give when using this tan is to apply it to small areas at a time and a little goes a long way!
Similar to Sunkissed tanning products this mousse has a gorgeous fruity scent. I did not experience any usual burnt biscuit scent.
The tan is a beautiful colour. I tried the medium shade. I would say this shade is quite dark, I would probably apply this tan for weekends/nights out, I'm not sure I would use it for everyday use as it is quite dark. It is a gorgeous bronzed shade.
I rinsed the tan after one hour and I can honestly say I was left with a deep bronzed glow after 60 minutes. I was a bit skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. See photos below.

All in all I was happy with the results. If you are looking for a dark bronzed glow in just one hour then this is the tan for you!

Sunkissed will launch Rapid Tan in February online and in store at Superdrug and pharmacies nationwide.

New Love... Rimmel London Sunshimmer Self Tan Mousse

After a disastrous St Moritz tanning experience (glowing orange hands) I decided to stir clear of it and try something new. My mam actually came across this new product in Penney's last week, she knows all about my obsession with false tan and picked it up for me to try.

Rimmel London Sunshimmer Self Tan Mousse is a new product from Rimmel London. It is their first tanning mouse which gives you an instant natural glow and also contains a developing tan which gives you a flawless natural glow in just one hour. The tan is said to be very easy to apply, has no fake tan smell and last on the skin for up to 7 days. 

The Verdict-

I was very impressed with the colour of this tan, it is a gorgeous natural bronzed colour, with a red undertone rather than an orange shade. I did find it dried very quickly on my skin, you don't have much time to apply it, so I probably wouldn't recommend it to tanning beginners, I would say if you cannot apply it quickly you could end up a bit patchy.

The colour was still beautiful and rich after showering the next morning and the tan lasted about 4 or 5 days before it started to fade. I did find it came off a little patchy in places, especially round the usual parts... knees, elbows, but I have very dry skin at the moment so I can't fully blame the tan on that one. I tried this tan for the second time over the weekend, this time I left it on for only one hour to see if you really do get a deep glowing tan in just one hour.

I also loved how the colour was instant, this did make application easier and it was also lovely to have an instant bronzed glow. Mousse is by far my favourite type of tan, as it dries very quickly, this mousse is no exception to this and it dries in seconds which is very handy, I hate waiting around for tan to dry.

All in all I was pleased with this tan, yes it does dry rather quickly but once you get the hang of application this tan is worth the effort. The colour reminds me a lot of the Cocoa Brown 1 hour mousse, it truly is a very natural, bronzed shade. Rimmel London Sunshimmer Self Tan Mousse comes in three shades, Light, Medium & Dark. New NIVEA Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls

Fighting the signs of ageing seems to be an ongoing battle. Luckily there is always new products introduced to fight all signs of ageing. I am a huge fan of all the Nivea products. My mom has always loved Nivea products so I guess having the brand at home I eventually robbed/borrowed the products and started using them.

The Q10 Plus range is specially aimed at targeting the signs of ageing skin, it is proven to combat wrinkles and help maintain a youthful complexion. There is eight products in the range. I absolutely adore the Q10 Plus Anti Wrinkle Energising Day Cream. I have repurchased this product several times. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated and soft but it still feels light and airy on my skin.

Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls* is a new product to the Q10 range. This new product includes ingredients such as Coenzyme Q10, Hyaluronic Acid and Creatine. Coenzyme Q10 is naturally found in the skin but levels decrease with age, Q10 protects the skin from antioxidants and helps to maintain skin cells energy production. The product contains Q10 enriched pearls and hydro gel, when you press the pump dispenser the pearls dissolve and blend with the hydro gel, this freshly activates the serum to revitalise the skin. 

The Verdict- I have used this product over the last two weeks and I am in love with it. The product is very light and glides across your skin. It smells absolutely gorgeous, it has a very refreshing scent. I especially love the packaging of this product, the pump dispenser is very handy and I adore the clear packaging so you can see the pretty golden pearls inside. I apply this product before I apply my makeup and my makeup definitely appears smoother and seamless. Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls is priced at €14.99. If you are looking for a quality serum product at a fraction of the cost of other serums on the market I would recommend giving this product a try.

The Guinot Age Summum Treatment

Last week, I was invited for a complementary treatment at The Guinot Flagship Salon in Greystones. Guinot have recently launched a new anti ageing facial called The Guinot Age Summum Treatment. The facial includes 4 phases and is uniquely designed to target signs of ageing, with the use of pure Vitamin C and powerful pro-Collagen it helps to restore the skin. This facial also includes an anti-ageing massage which helps the ingredients to deeply penetrate the skin leaving your skin feeling, regenerated and radiant.

Now that my 20's are sadly ending and I'll soon be entering the 30 mark eeeek! I am trying my best to maintain a good daily facial routine and also use anti aging products, like night cream, especially under the eye area. As it is now something I think about and consider important I was excited for this facial to see how my skin would feel/look after the treatment.

I was welcomed to the beautiful Guinot Mary Cohr Flagship Salon by the lovely Fiona, I was offered tea/coffee while I waited at the reception area. At my appointment time Fiona took me down to the beauty room, The room was beautifully decorated and very cosy, I felt immediately at ease. While Fiona cleansed my skin she explained the new Guinot Summon in detail. As I said above the new Summon facial includes four steps...

STEP 1
Gommage Dermabrasion to Resurface the Skin

The Verdict-

At €92 The Guinot Summun facial is quite pricey but I think it is well worth it. The treatment is simply out of this world, very luxurious and the treatment lasted a great deal longer than other facials I have had. All the products are beautiful and I really enjoyed the facial massage, I was in heaven. My skin felt very healthy, plump and my wrinkles/smile lines were faded slightly after just one treatment. I would definitely recommend this treatment to anyone who has concerns about early signs of ageing or anyone in general who is looking for a luxurious facial experience, you will not be disappointed.

Once the treatment was completed Fiona left me a gorgeous mug of hot Lemon and Honey, I was actually feeling slightly under the weather on the day of the treatment so I thoroughly enjoyed this little treat and sat in the beauty room for quite some time enjoying the heated room and hot drink.

I really enjoyed my visit to The Guinot Mary Cohr Salon, from the moment I walked in the door I felt at ease, well looked after and very pampered. I will definitely be making another appointment.

My Experience at Blink & Wink

Last week I was contacted by the lovely Ksenia at Blink & Wink, a new Eyelash and Eyebrow Salon based on Dawson's Street. Ksenia offered me a complementary visit to the new salon and I immediately obliged. Just from looking at the Price list menu I could tell it was going to be a luxurious experience.(Link to price list here).

I chose The Blink & Wink Look Treatment. This treatment includes an eyebrow tint, shape and a lash Tint. I have been very much lacking in looking after my eyebrows for the last few weeks, I tend to overpluck them when I do try to maintain them and then spend the next few weeks trying to grow them back, does anyone else do this? So I was very excited to have my eyebrows looked after by a professional, they definitely needed it!

From the minute I walked in I felt very welcomed. The  girls are lovely and the salon is beautifully decorated. I took a few snaps of the upstairs area, I noticed they sell the Millie Mackintosh lashes, I adore these lashes. Once I arrived, I was offered tea or coffee while I filled out the procedure form. From there Ramona took me downstairs to the treatment room. Here Ramona did a full consultation and we discussed colours and shades for my lashes and brows. Ramona was very friendly and I felt very relaxed during the treatment.

I could not believe the transformation, my brows were exactly how I wanted them. The shade matched my hair perfectly and they looked very full and healthy. I usually have to fill in my brows a lot but over the weekend I could leave the house without having to apply any brow makeup, this will be a real time saver in the morning. I was also very impressed with my lashes, I have quite light brown lashes so the Black tint really improved my lashes, they look more defined and voluminous.

Overall I was delighted with my trip to Blink & Wink, I will definitely be going back for another treatment. As the salon is based on Dawson street it is in a prime location and easily accessible. I think during my next visit I will try out one of the facial treatments.
